Bjarne Bare is a Oslo based photographer and gallerist currently running MELK gallery for emerging Scandinavian photography in Oslo and taking part at the BA of Fine Art course at the Academy of Fine Art Oslo. Bare focuses on the voyeuristic aspects of modern life and has based most of his work on travels to cities like Tokyo, Buenos Aires, Cairo and Los Angeles. Capturing modern solitude in urban societies making use of photography as his main medium. His works have been shown in Buenos Aires, Amsterdam, San Francisco and Oslo and published in Carls Cars magazine, Dazed and Confused and Unpublished magazine.

Hello,こんにちは。
「チーム・偶然」「luitomo（類は友を呼ぶ）」「ハヤブサ」は、それぞれzineをつくっていて、しかもともだちでした。最近それが発覚して、ちょっと嬉しくなりました。
せっかくだからレーベル仕立てにしたら面白いし、いろいろ楽なんじゃないかなぁってカンジで作ったのがこのレーベル、「Fog Horn Publishing」！
いつだってテーマは｢自分（たち）」
「チーム・偶然」は、科学で説明のつかないことを放り込む、偶然と言う名のゴミ箱が好きな３人組。「good* then collision」は日常で「ちょっとやってみようかな」ってなる小さなアジテーター。（かっこいい！）
「luitomo」という名前の由来は「類は友を呼ぶ」という素敵なことわざ。
ももこ と みちる の２人で、「La fenetre」というリトルプレスを不定期に発行しています。
前半「ももこの ももたび」は、ももこの旅を素敵に綴っております。
後半のみちるのページは、毎回思いつきにより、ふざけたり、きどったりしています。
Ｌａ ｆｅｎｅｔｒｅとは「窓」のこと。窓から外をのぞくように、ちょっと別の世界をのぞいてみない？ そんなコンセプトでおおくりしています。
「ハヤブサ」は生き急ぐパージン。頑固な程の「私のZINE」

My name is Joel Lardner and I have just finished a small self-published
artist’s book entitled ‘The
Queen of Spades’, based on Alexander Pushkin’s short story. The story is
set in 19th century St.Petersburg and concerns the destructive nature of
obsession.
I am interested in vintage picture books and using this vocabulary to
pursue new directions for my practice. Ornament, pattern and costume feed
my enthusiasm for intricacy and drawing. Although referencing childrens
books I see the work as reclaiming a wonderment lost to adults. I see the
picture book as a tactile, alluring object which provides access to a
cohesive and believable mini-universe.

Justin Bland lives in Portland and makes small-edition artists books, prints and multiples.
Justin Waldron (born 1983) is a Japan / New York-based film photographer.
His work has been exhibited internationally and featured in several publications
and online projects such as Lines and Shapes (US), Homeland Magazine (China),
and Good Morning Light (China).
I grew up in Tokyo but moved to Hong Kong at an early age. When I was in high school I moved to America. I studied at Parsons School of Design in New York and Central St Martins in London. 3 years ago I moved back to Tokyo.
My photos are incidental moments that I want to preserve. Last year an old friend of my father’s was throwing away a lucky black and white enlarger, I asked him if I could have it and since then I’ve been developing my pictures myself.
最近「ちらかす」ことに興味があります。部屋が散らかっていたり
散らかっている様を目の当たりにすると、時々ある線を越えてぼーっと する瞬
間があります。それはつまり、ノイズ音が心地よくなる瞬間に近く、身の回りが
いい感じにノイジーになることによって体が輪郭を失い、なぜだ か心地よさを
感じてしまう瞬間とも言えるでしょう。本をつくるという事はどちらかというと
「ちらかす」ことの反対にあるように思えますが……その 中身はちらかしてある
わけです。ところで「チラカス」と書いてじーっとみているとなんだかよくわか
らない感じになってきませんか。
Misaki Kawai (born 1978) lives and works in New York. She has had solo exhibitions around the world, including the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston and the Watari Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo; and has been featured in shows at PS1 and Deitch Projects in New York. She is currently represented by Take Ninagawa in Tokyo and Galleri Loyal in Sweden.

内田耕造

Pleasure Poster Magazine is first in the world magazine in form of
posters, which travels all over the world and exists in galleries, on
street walls and public spaces; both outdoor and indoor (Barcelona,
Basel, Warsaw, Kraków,). Pleasure comes out annually. Last issue’s
topic was animals and included photos, paintings, posters, graphics
and sculptures designed as spreads. PPM runs also interactive and
multimedia platform. For Tokyo Mate we prepared a special edition, 12
posters, signed & completed loose in a book briefcase A3 format.
Agata Mocarska (1974) painter, sculptur, costume designer. Had
exhibitions in various cities of Europe. Played in Berlin theater
Brotfabrik. Received grant from Polish Ministry of Culture for
sculpture project “internal organs”.
Maksym Matuszewski (1979) artist and graphic designer, independent
movie maker. Graduated Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts with honours. First
prize for film “Hysteria of the neighbor” IN-OUT festival. awarded
for art direction on ad festivals (ex.Golden Chimera)

Sarah, a Scottish twenty-six year old, lives in Sendai. She likes to jump between creative endeavours, never pausing long enough to improve at anything. “It’s ok! Give up later!” is a mulch of comics and vague ideas.
Paul-Jon Milne, an all-Scottish hunkatron, is still in Scotland. He does illustration and animation and things. He is part French, part Fifer, and all unemployed. “Guts Power” is the story of Bebox and LoveLaffs1820 going to D.O.L.E in the year 2003 AD.

TBOOKS COLOGNE was founded by Tim early in 2010. It is a publishing project for artzines and handmade books, based in Cologne, Germany. TBOOKS is a platform for artists, that want to realize projects, which other publishing houses won’t do. And, of course, it is for the love of paper, zines and books!
Thom Smith is an artist from NYC. He moved to Tokyo in January 2010. His work is primarily in the forms of drawing, printmaking and photography. For the past 2 years, he has self-published 2 volumes of Submit to Satan zine. The concept of the zine is to showcase artists from around the world who are also fans of metal music. Each zine was curated on a friend-of-friend network basis, including works by: Andrew Guenther, Ragnar Persson, Masaru Aikawa, Natalie Purkey, Tetsunori Tawaraya, Matt Jones, and Jess Holzwoth.
This zine grew out of artwork I have been making about monumental attempts to “fix” the world and the unfortunate results. This issue focuses on things seen in and around Tokyo. Imagery includes decorations for nuclear powered warships during open-base “friendship” days, anti-dam movements, and radical architecture for street corner police boxes.
This year I graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts with a PhD in Fine Arts. From 1995-96, I was the creator of the zine Buck in the Field. It chronicled my jobs in factories and was included in the exhibit Alt.Youth.Media at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in 1996.
Ugly Duckling Presse is a non-profit art & publishing organization whose mission is to produce artisanal and trade editions of new poetry, translation, experimental non-fiction, performance texts, and books by artists. The Emergency Playscripts series annually publishes performance scripts that highlight the particular problems of notation, in hopes of expanding the practice of theater.
